Inside the Movement: A Day in the Life of a National Right to Life Intern - National Right to Life
2+ week, 5+ day ago (233+ words) At National Right to Life, interns don't sit on the sidelines. They're in the thick of the fight, contributing directly to the mission of protecting life through policy, education, and outreach. From the start of the day, interns dive into the fast-moving work of America's oldest and best-established single-issue pro-life organization. They're tracking federal legislation, helping prepare for congressional briefings, researching emerging issues, and supporting national campaigns. They write, edit, post, organize, coordinate, and lead. No two days are the same. Interns rotate where they're most needed. They build professional skills, strengthen their writing and communication, and grow into leaders who understand how to turn conviction into action. This isn't a new initiative. NRLC's internship program stretches back decades. Former interns have gone on to run state affiliates, lead national campaigns, and represent their communities in public office. They leave…...

1+ week, 6+ day ago (214+ words) I am shocked and saddened by the loss of John Kelly, the leader of the disability rights group,Second Thoughtsan activist withNot Dead Yet,and a leader ofProgressives Against Medical Assisted Suicide. John was an amazing disability activist leader and tireless in his opposition to medical assisted suicide. John was an amazing leader, advocate, speaker, a warrior for truth. John was a gifted orator and incredibly funny and witty. He was a great collaborator, like few others. He worked with everyone. I remember John coming to Toronto to speak at our Euthanasia Prevention Coalition conference. He was profound, excellent and funny. But life with a disability was always present. The next morning, he thanked one of the doctors who was attending the conference for saving his life. I can't remember exactly what happened, but in the night he had a…...

Oklahomans For Life – Legislative Alert - National Right to Life
1+ week, 4+ day ago (320+ words) Abortion Supporters Want to Change Elections in Oklahoma to Elect More Pro-Abortion Candidates; Decline to Sign SQ 836 Initiative Petition Pro-abortion political operatives have seized upon a new gimmick to try to elect more pro-abortion candidates to public office in Oklahoma. Their strategy is to confuse voters with appeals to "fairness," and "democracy" and "disenfranchised" voters, while seeking to impose on our state an election process that would result in the election of more pro-abortion candidates. Their mechanism is State Question 836 (SQ 836), an initiative petition to turn Oklahoma's voting system on its head. This approach has various labels " open primary, jungle primary, California system. It is a manipulative scheme which games the system and rigs the results in such a way that the consequence would be the election of more pro-abortion candidates. We urge you to'oppose'SQ 836 and'not'sign'the initiative petition if someone…...

Fact Sheet: Problems and Limits of the Turnaway Study - National Right to Life
1+ week, 10+ hour ago (304+ words) By Charlotte Lozier Institute The Turnaway Study is based on interviews with a non-random sample consisting of a small number of participants. The Turnaway Study participants were missing important characteristics found in the general abortion-seeking population, thus the results cannot be generalized to the experiences of all women who undergo, or initially seek but do not undergo, abortions. Some papers using data from the Turnaway Study contain conclusions that are inconsistent with the actual findings. 1+ week, 4+ day ago (265+ words) By Maria V. Gallagher, Executive Director, An organization designed to provide comprehensive counseling and support to women has reached a major milestone. Real Alternatives has now served some 505,000 women in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Indiana in its 30-year history. In addition, a Texas program Real Alternatives helped run for seven years, which was then spun off, has helped 410,000 women since its founding in 2005. The success is a testament to how a program based on care and compassion can aid women at a vulnerable time in their lives. In Indiana, for instance, 77 percent of women in fiscal year 23-24 who were pressured by others to abort chose childbirth after receiving program services. It is an incredible statistic and reflects the positive outcomes which have become a hallmark of the program. Sadly, in Pennsylvania, Governor Josh Shapiro canceled Real Alternatives" Commonwealth contract as a result…...
